Iraqi Walnut and Tomato Dip

Spicy tomato with garlic, honey and crushed wallnuts

Iraqi Walnut and Tomato Dip

Ingredients:

1 Cup of Walnuts
1 Tomato, chopped
2 Tblsp of Tomato Paste
1 Tsp of Allspice
2 Tsp of Mild Paprika
2 Garlic Cloves, crushed
1-2 Thick Slice of White Bread
1 Tbsp of Pepper Paste
2 Tsp of Honey
1/2 Cup of Olive Oil
Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Roughly crush walnuts with a mortar and pestle.
  2. Combine all the remaining ingredients in a blender to form a smooth paste.
  3. Place the dip in a serving bowl, gently mix the walnuts through and then serve with Turkish bread or pita crisps.
