Algerian Sweet and Spicy Chicken
Sweet chicken with garlic, cinnamon, cardamom and chilli
1 Whole Chicken, cut into 8 pieces (skin on)
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
6 Garlic Cloves, minced
2 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
2 Tsp Ground Cardamom
2 Tsp Ground Chilli
Salt and Pepper to taste
1/2 Cup Olive Oil
- In a large saucepan add the chicken pieces and sugar cover the chicken with water then boil for 10-15 minutes then drain.
- Pre-heat oven to 200c.
- In a small bowl mix with the olive oil, garlic, cinnamon, cardamom, chilli, salt and pepper.
- Transfer the chicken to a baking pan then pour over the olive oil mixture.
- Bake chicken for 20-30 minutes until crispy then serve.
