Arabian Honey Cake
Vanilla butter cake with honey, cinnamon and almond topping

Ingredients:
Cake:
1/3 cup butter, melted
3 eggs
1/2 cup caster sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
Topping:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup caster sugar
1/3 cup honey
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Method:
- Pre heat buttered cake pan in oven to 200c.
- Beat the eggs, sugar and vanilla until the mixture whitens then add the melted butter and mix well.
- Sift the flour and baking powder together and gently add to the previous mixture.
- Pour in the prepared pan and bake 10 to 12 minutes.
- Meanwhile preparing the topping - melt the butter on medium heat.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
- Pour the topping gently on the cake and return it to the oven for another 15 to 20 minutes.
- Serve when the cake has cooled.
